MANSAR: Launching a blistering attack on the National Conference-led government, senior BJP leader and MLA Udhampur East, Ranbir Singh Pathania, accused the ruling party of betraying the public trust by replacing election promises with punishing economic burdens.
Addressing a massive turnout at a Janta Darbar in the PWD Rest House, Mansar, Pathania condemned the recent 6.82% electricity tariff hike as a direct slap in the face to common households.
The National Conference rode to power on the backs of grand promises—promising 200 units of free electricity, free LPG cylinders, and free travel. Today, instead of relief, the public gets hit with a tariff hike. This isn't governance; it is a blatant, shameless betrayal," Pathania declared.
Exposing the government's track record on employment, Pathania hit out at the NC's pledge to generate one lakh youth jobs: "Against the promised one lakh jobs, 25,000—have been quietly handed out to the political cronies and favorites of NC leaders. The BJP will not stand by silently. We will expose this government on every single unfulfilled guarantee across every street and corner."
He further said that a mega project with 2,500 Cr Highway Connectivity: Accelerating the massive Samba–Udhampur National Highway via Battal to transform regional trade and travel.
He also promised to fight for early sanction of 200 Cr Tourism Overhaul under Swadesh Darshan scheme for a multi-storey tourism development project at Mansar Lake.
While thanking local MP & Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, he said that a Four-laning project of Dhar Road is about to be sanctioned and started by BRO alongside an alternative connection route from Samba to Battal.
He further pushed for Fast-tracking leftover PMAY housing cases in Sarail Chowa, Channi, Mansar, Bhatti, Bari Garh, Battal, and Majalta; resolving acute teacher shortages at GHSS Mansar; and upgrading sports infrastructure for local youth.
He further called for direct Administrative Accountability.
The Janta Darbar saw key regional officers on the ground to address public grievances on the spot, including the CEO of the Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority, Tehsildar Majalta, BDO Majalta, SHO Mansar, alongside senior officials from PWD, Rural Development, Irrigation & Flood Control, and Agriculture. Key local leaders including Narain Dutt Tripathi, Jagdish Chander, Baldev Mankotia,, Amit Sharma, Shoukit Ali, Tilak Raj, Chanchala Devi, Pooja Devi, Shiv Ram, Ranjit Singh, Kirpal Singh, Mohan Lal Sharma, Shamboo Dutt, Harry Sharma, Kulbir Singh, Sukhdev, and Balkar Singh were also present.
Pathania called upon the administration to resolve all verified public issues within fixed timeframes, emphasizing that citizens should never have to chase officials for basic rights.
"The administration must serve the people at their doorstep. Mansar's potential will not be held hostage by administrative delays," Pathania concluded.
