White Knight Corps GOC inaugurates new sports facilities in Jammu Sainik School

Jammu: General Officer Commanding of White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, on Saturday visited Sainik School Nagrota here and inaugurated the newly constructed synthetic tennis, volleyball, basketball and badminton courts, a defence spokesperson said.

The new facilities are expected to significantly enhance the sporting environment at the institute, providing students with better opportunities for systematic training and competitive preparation, he said.

On the occasion, Lt Gen Mishra presented the GOC's Medallion for distinguished service to four employees of the school -- Sandeep Kumar, senior master and PGT chemistry, Saroj Kumar Thakur, lab assistant, Mahendra Singh Chauhan, personal assistant to the principal, and mason Chunni Lal -- in recognition of their exemplary dedication and contribution to the institution, the spokesperson said.

Their recognition brought into focus the important contribution of the school's civilian staff in supporting academic excellence, administration and infrastructure development, he said.

He also released the school magazine, "The Chinar", on the occasion.

The GOC's visit underscored the close association between the Defence Forces and Sainik School Nagrota and provided an opportunity for the cadets and students to interact with and draw inspiration from the senior military leadership, the spokesperson said.

Archana Mishra, the zonal president of Army Wives Welfare Association, White Knight Corps, attended the investiture ceremony of Chinar Primary School, the junior wing of Sainik School Nagrota, the spokesperson said.

A new library was inaugurated at Chinar Primary School, marking an important step towards encouraging reading, curiosity and intellectual development among young learners, he said.
