JAMMU, Aug 17: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday flagged off the first batch of devotees for the annual Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas, marking the beginning of the revered pilgrimage.
Extending his warm wishes to the pilgrims, the Lieutenant Governor prayed for their safe journey and a spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage.
Sinha appreciated the Baba Amarnath and Budha Amarnath Yatri Nyas, VHP, Bajrang Dal, local administration, langar organisations and civil society groups for their coordinated efforts and arrangements for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage and the Budha Amarnath Ji Mela.
“The sacred journey to Baba Budha Amarnath's abode is a deeply enlightening experience. I firmly believe this pilgrimage brings profound transformation and reveals life’s deepest truths to every devotee,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by prominent spiritual leaders, religious heads, public representatives, senior civil and police officers, security officials, prominent citizens and a large number of devotees.
The annual yatra to the holy shrine is expected to witness participation from devotees from different parts of the country.
