BJP Misleading People over Cabinet Reshuffle: Rattan Lal Gupta

Jammu October 29: Senior National Conference leader and Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, said that the National Conference (NC) remains firmly committed to the inclusive development, welfare, regional balance and prosperity of the people of Jammu region, ensuring that every section of society receives due attention and equal opportunities.

Reacting to the BJP's statements regarding the recent cabinet reshuffle, Gupta alleged that the BJP was misleading the public by giving the administrative exercise a political and communal colour. He said that cabinet reshuffles are part of the democratic and administrative process, aimed at strengthening governance and improving the delivery of public services. He further that in the recent cabinet reshuffle, Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah retained Surinder Choudhary as Deputy Chief Minister, thereby continuing the representation of the Jammu region in the Council of Ministers. Taking a dig at the BJP Govt at the Centre questioning them that how many Muslims are in the Central Cabinet which is purely based on communal basis.

Gupta emphasized that the National Conference is a secular party that believes in unity, equality, and justice for all, irrespective of religion, caste, region, or community. He said that the party has consistently sought public support on the basis of its policies, performance, and commitment to secular values.

He emphasised that the NC-led government under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to addressing the genuine concerns of the people of Jammu, particularly in the fields of roads and infrastructure, drinking water, electricity, healthcare, education, employment, and other essential civic amenities.

Again taking a dig at the BJP's narrative about a possible split within the National Conference, Gupta said that speculation about internal divisions would not help address the real problems confronting the people. He asserted that the party's focus remains on strengthening its organisation, maintaining unity, and fulfilling its commitments to the public.

Gupta reiterated that the National Conference would continue to become more and more stronger and to work for the welfare of all communities and ensure that Jammu receives its rightful share in development, resources, and public welfare initiatives. He called upon political parties to focus on constructive politics and public issues rather than spreading misleading narratives about the functioning of the elected government.
