JAMMU, Aug 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday activated the National General Emergency Response System, Dial 112, to provide immediate assistance to people during emergencies through a single helpline, officials said.
The service has been made available through all police stations across the Jammu zone, enabling people to seek prompt assistance in emergency situations.
Officials said the helpline can be used for a range of emergencies, including fire incidents, medical assistance, women’s safety and disaster-related information.
The police have urged the public to make use of the facility whenever required.
“In case of an emergency, anytime, anywhere, Dial 112 for immediate assistance,” posters issued as part of the initiative stated.
