BJP MP Attacks Rahul Gandhi, Calls Him A ‘Bhagoda’

Nanded, Aug 22 : BJP's Rajya Sabha member Ajit Gopchade on Saturday attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him a "bhagoda" (deserter).

He also hit out at Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, and asked opposition leaders to "look within themselves" before targeting others.

Talking to PTI Videos, Gopchade accused Gandhi of avoiding discussion in Parliament, and described him as a 'bhagoda' Leader of the Opposition.

He said students were being used by the opposition parties for political purposes.

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi's 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' programme being held in Pune on Saturday and his criticism of the government, MP Gopchade raised questions over alleged scams involving education ministers in Karnataka and Jharkhand.

The opposition leaders should first examine their own conduct, he said.

Taking a swipe at Sanjay Raut, Gopchade said his statements and political approach had harmed his own party Shiv Sena (UBT), adding that the leader should introspect over his political role and direction.

Gopchade further described youth power as "national power".

"The younger generation will play a crucial role in building a Viksit Bharat by 2047," he said.

The Rajya Sabha MP claimed that the country's youth was standing with the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Supreme Court is examining ongoing legal proceedings and petitions related to the Shri Krishna Janmasthan and Shahi Mosque Eidgah dispute in Mathura.

Replying to a question regarding it, he said Lord Ram and Lord Krishna were an integral part of India's ancient heritage and cultural traditions.

"The country is witnessing a renewed assertion of its spiritual and cultural legacy," he said, expressing confidence that the ideals of Ram Rajya and the era associated with Lord Krishna would gain greater prominence.

MP Gopchade, however, said that the Supreme Court and the Constitution must be respected and that the final decision in any legal matter would be taken in accordance with the Constitution and the judiciary.
