NEW DELHI, OCT 10: YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was reportedly detained by Delhi Police from his residence in Sector 56, Gurugram, on Saturday ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) proposed protest at Jantar Mantar, according to police sources.
Rathee was reportedly on his way to join the demonstration, which has prompted heightened security arrangements across the national capital.
Earlier this week, Delhi Police denied permission for the proposed protest, citing security concerns and procedural requirements.
Police personnel have been deployed at strategic locations, while preventive detentions have been carried out to stop protesters from reaching the designated protest site.
According to the report, around 150 protesters have been detained by police from various locations in the New Delhi area so far.
Further details regarding Dhruv Rathee’s detention and the police action are awaited.
