Indian Embassy in Riyadh Issues Safety Advisory Amid Heightened Security Concerns

DUBAI, Oct 18: The Indian Embassy in Riyadh on Sunday urged Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia to follow updated safety instructions issued by Saudi authorities for people receiving emergency alerts through the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies.

The advisory comes amid heightened security concerns following strikes by Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

According to instructions shared on social media, people receiving emergency warnings have been advised to remain calm, follow official directions and immediately move to the nearest safe location inside a building.

Authorities have recommended taking shelter in an interior room away from windows and remaining there until the danger has passed.

People have also been advised not to leave their homes or buildings while the threat persists, to stay away from open areas, windows and glass, and to avoid standing on balconies or rooftops.

The embassy urged Indian nationals to remain alert and comply with safety instructions issued by Saudi authorities to protect themselves during emergencies.
