DGP Nalin Prabhat Reviews SOG Readiness, Security Arrangements During Cargo Visit

Srinagar, July 15: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Nalin Prabhat, on Wednesday visited the Special Operations Group (SOG) Cargo Complex in Srinagar to review the unit's operational preparedness and interact with personnel deployed there. The DGP was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, and other senior police officers. During the visit, he assessed the security arrangements, operational capabilities, and working conditions of the personnel. Addressing the SOG personnel, Prabhat praised their professionalism, dedication, and consistent efforts in maintaining law and order and conducting counter-militancy operations across the Kashmir Valley. He acknowledged the unit's significant contribution to tackling security challenges and safeguarding public safety. The visit also featured a detailed review of the existing security framework, with discussions focusing on strengthening counter-insurgency operations and enhancing operational effectiveness. The DGP underscored the need for maintaining a high level of preparedness and close coordination to effectively respond to evolving security threats. Senior officers briefed the police chief on the prevailing security situation in the Valley, ongoing operations, and the force's readiness to meet emerging challenges. The visit was part of the J&K Police leadership's ongoing efforts to assess field-level operations, boost the morale of personnel, and further reinforce the security framework across the Kashmir region.
