New Delhi, Aug 27: A 21-year-old student and model was allegedly stabbed to death inside her home in West Delhi's Tilak Nagar, with police suspecting the involvement of a gym trainer, officials said.
The deceased, identified as Muskan, was reportedly alone at her second-floor residence when the incident took place on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Imran, allegedly entered the house, attacked her with a knife and fled.
Neighbours rushed to the residence after hearing Muskan's cries for help and found her seriously injured. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Gupta said police were searching for the accused and examining CCTV footage from the area to trace his movements.
Muskan's friend Aman said she was the youngest of three sisters. He said one of her sisters, who is currently in Chandigarh, contacted him after learning about the attack and asked him to rush to Muskan's residence.
According to Aman, Imran worked as a trainer at the gym where Muskan used to exercise. He also claimed that Muskan's sisters had earlier raised concerns about the accused allegedly harassing her.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are making efforts to locate and arrest the accused.
