Srinagar, Aug 13: A 60-year-old civilian from Kachadia Bagh Bella in Karnah sector of Kupwara district who was injured during cross border shelling last week succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Srinagar this morning.

Officials told that an injured civilian a resident of Kachadia Bagh Bella in Karnah sector who received head injuries last week succumbed at SKIMS soura this morning.

The official identified the deceased civilian as Mohammad Yaqoob Mir (60) son of Barkatullah mir a resident of Kachadia Bagh Bella and said he was injured on last friday along with two others from the same area.

“Deceased was undergoing treatment for all these days at SKIMS soura but couldn’t sustain and succumbed to his injures today morning”, the official said.

The official also said that the ceasefire violation on Friday has killed two people and left four injured including a women who are undergoing treatment in Srinagar.

It may be recalled that on last friday the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged gunfire along the line of control (LoC) in Karnah sector that left at least 6 people injured including a women among them an injured died the same day hours after moved to health centre for treatment while five others were shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment also some houses had suffered minor damage.

With afresh death of 60-year-old man the death toll in the incident has gone put to to two now, officials said—(KNO)
