Leh, July 29: Advisor Narula today convened a meeting to review the functioning of Civil Aviation and Cultural Academy. The meeting was attended by Commissioner/Secretary Civil Aviation, Tourism and Culture, Rigzin Samphael, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Sachin Kumar Vaishaya. Deputy Commissioner Kargil Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary attended the meeting over video conference.
Commissioner/Secretary Rigzin Samphael briefed the Advisor regarding availability of helipad facilities at various locations across the Union territory. The Advisor issued instructions to the Deputy Commissioners to submit proposals for development of helipads at different locations along with hanger facilities at important locations. He asked them to design the hanger facilities in consultation with Pawan Hans Ltd. He asked Commissioner/Secretary, Civil Aviation to ensure expenditure of funds under Special Development Package earmarked for development of helipads.
The meeting also discussed operation of heli-services on new routes. The Advisor asked Commissioner/Secretary Civil Aviation to explore the starting of heli services on Drass-Srinagar, Kargil- Zanskar, Leh- Changthang and other routes.
During the review of Cultural Academy, the Advisor was informed regarding the various activities of the Academy. It was informed that the academy is working on Ladakhi Dictionary Project, Village Histories of Ladakh, Digitization of Publications and various other activities. The Advisor asked Commissioner/Secretary Culture to submit proposals forfresh constitution of the academy as an autonomous body
