Ladakh, June 23: The Army Chief General M M Naravane on Tuesday began his two-day visit to Ladakh where 20 army men were Martyred in violent clashes between the armies of India and China.
The Army Chief visited Leh and interacted with the injured army men, days after the Galwan Valley face-off took place.
Officials told that General MM Naravane on his two-day visit interacted with injured army men at Leh Army hospital and enquired about their health condition.
The Army Chief, accompanied by Lieutenant General YK Joshi, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command and Lieutenant General Harinder Singh, General Officer Commanding Fire and Fury Corps immediately on arrival, visited the Army Hospital at Leh and interacted with the patients.
General MM Naravane complimented all ranks for their high standard of professionalism and dedication to duty. He urged them to continue to discharge their duties with the same dedication and zeal.
Later in the evening Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Member of Parliament of Ladakh met General MM Naravane at the Hall of Fame at Leh.
Pertinently, 20 army men were Martyred at Galwan Valley last week in a violent face-off between the Chinese and Indian Army and at least 76 injured soldiers were stated to be stable and are undergoing treatment at different hospitals—(KNO)
