Ganderbal, may 18 : Police arrest over a dozen persons for extracting sand illegally from the river Sindh in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Police sources said that police post Shadipora in Ganderbal received information that scores of people without following the norms of social distancing illegally extract sand from the river Sindh in Shadipora Ganderbal.

Police swung into action and arrested 13 persons in this connection.

Confirming the arrest of 13 persons, a police official said that an FIR vide number99/2020 under section 188, 269 was registered against the violators at police station Ganderbal.
