Poonch, May 12: Poonch Police on Tuesday arrested a man from Bhatidhar village of Mendhar Sub Division for raping a deaf and dumb girl who has now delivered a baby after getting pregnant.
Police told that after a formal complaint under a FIR number 73/20 under section 376 IPC was registered in Police Station Poonch on Monday evening.
“Victim of the case was one pregnant deaf and dumb girl aged 20 who have now delivered a baby boy at District hospital Poonch,” police informed.
Police added that soon after the registration of FIR, teams of police from Poonch headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Mudassir Chaudhary and SHO Nishant Gupta arrested the accused identified as Mohammad Amin, son of Mohammad Aslam of Bhatidar village of Mendhar in Poonch.
“Further investigation into the matter is going on,” police added.
