Ganderbal, May 02: The District Administration Ganderbal Saturday declared the entire district  as COVID-19 free after all the 14 positive patients proved negative and were discharged from district hospital later.

Nodal Officer for Coronavirus in Ganderbal, Dr Yasmeena said that all the discharged patients have been asked to observe 14 days home quarantine and take all necessary precautions.

Ganderbal District is now covid free, all the patients were allowed to go to their respective homes while as a regular medical check up of patients will be done by surveillance teams durring home quarantine to ensure more safety, district Magistrate said.

He said that the effort in combating the epidemic of frontline warriors have achieved flying results.

He also complimented efforts of medical department, police and all other departments for working together and tirelessly to prevent the spread of corona Virus in the district.

Prentinelty, most number of postive COVID-19 cases belonged to village Guzhama and one from gutlibagh village of Ganderbal which had been declared as red zones and all the necessary precautionary measures are being taken.

SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmed Poswal also thanked the people for their cooperation and he urged people to cooperate with police and administration in future as well.

Officials from district administration and health sector have urged people to follow all the advisories and preventive measures issued from government and medical authority.
