SHOPIAN APRIL 18: Under Prime Minister’s Gareeb Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) scheme, Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, today kick started the distribution of 5kg rice, per soul free ration among the BPL and AAY beneficiaries of Shopian district. Assistant Director, Food and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner said that special efforts are being put in to provide free ration among the BPL and AAY categories during this crucial period. He said that the district administration is keeping close vigil and is taking every possible step to come to the assistance of the poor and needy.
Regarding steps taken for safety of employees of the department, he said that the department has taken certain precautionary measures to stop the COVID-19 spread and the same is being followed by the ground staff in letter and spirit while distributing food grains.
