Srinagar, April 1: At least 221 persons who were quarantined here in different hotels and other Government Buildings have been tested negative. All these persons have been sent back to their homes with a direction that they should quarantine themselves in homes for next 14 days.
These people were quarantined after they arrived in Srinagar from different parts of India and abroad. From past two weeks they were staying in a Srinagar and adjacent areas.
These people included females and children as well. They exhibited a positive attitude and said landing in quarantine was in ther interest.
“Its good to learn that all the tests quarantined at different places have found negative. Finally, I am leaving for the home and it is a big relief for me,” said a youth to Kashmir News Trust who hails from North Kashmir’s Handwara town.
Most of the people quarantined thanked Srinagar Administration for the hospitality and better facilities they were provided during the period of quarantine.
“We got everything from the administration and we really thank them for the arrangements they had made for us,” a group of people outside the hotel said.
Administration had arranged vehicles for these people and they were ferried to their respective district headquarters.
Assistant Commissioner Srinagar, Hanif Balkhi told KNT that more people quarantined at different places whose tests will turn out negative will be sent back to their homes with a direction that they should quarantine themselves in their respective homes. “We have to break the chain and it is possible only when we maintain social distancing and stop coming out from our homes un-necessarily,” he said. He said 221 persons were sent back to their respective homes in SRTC buses.
