Municipality Budgam disinfects hospitals, crowded places; FSO inspects, sensitizes restaurant, food outlet staff

Budgam: Under the instructions of District Development Commissioner, Budgam Tariq Hussain Ganai, Municipality Committee, Budgam today sprayed disinfectants at District Hospital and other crowded placed in the town to contain spread of Corona virus.

The drive was spearheaded by the EO Municipality Budgam, Anis Chowdary.  During the drive, cleanliness activity was held and masks, pamphlets were distributed among employees and commoners to create awareness about prevention of covid-19 in the district.

On the occasion, Anis Chowdary said that disinfectant spray drive will continue at all crowded places, including masjids and other public gathering places.

Meanwhile, the Chairman Municipal Committee Budgam, Rohullah Gazi said that municipality will also start fumigation drive at market places and busy roads to prevent the spread of infection.

The designated Food Safety Officer Budgam, Yamin Nabi conducted inspection of restaurants and others food outlets to check the adherence of prescribed guidelines in this regard.

During the inspection, various restaurants were put on notice for failing to meet the sanitation guidelines. The inspection team inspected kitchens, washrooms and other facilities at these food outlets and sanitized sensitized the restaurant staff including waiters and cooks about proper maintenance of hygiene in the premises.

On the occasion, Yamin Nabi said that team will continue the inspections and ensure all the restaurant and food outlets are following food safety standards, health guidelines and other preventive measures in letter and spirit.

At Shopian: An awareness programme was held at Mini Secretariate, Arhama, Shopian, here today. The awareness programme which was organized for civil administrative organized by District Health Society Shopian on Novel Coronavirus COVID- 19 was chaired by the District Development Commissioner, Shopian, Chaudhary Mohammad Yasin.

While speaking on the occasion DDC urged the officers to take preventive measures including frequent use of hand sanitation and hand wash in the offices and avoiding large gatherings. He asked the concerned to organize more such camps to aware people about the preventive measures they need to take to avert the infection.

Chief Medical Officer presented a power point, apprising the gathering about the precautionary measures and steps to be taken in this regard. He said District Health Society Shopian is fully prepared to meet any exigency.

Among others Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Medical Officer and other District Officers were present on the occasion.

At Kupwara: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone, today conducted a surprise inspection of Corona Virus Control Room, established at Media centre Kupwara.

ADC interacted with the on duty employees and enquired about the calls they have received during last 5 days.

On the occasion, he ordered for adding one more telephone number (9622427915) to the control room. The other two telephone numbers are 9419268121, 01955253522
