Leh: The young parliamentarian from Ladakh constituency, Jamyang Tsering Namgyail today raised the issue of pending of Transmission Line from Drass to Zanskar and Leh to Nubra etc during Zero Hour in Lok Sabha.
The minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy, R K Sing answering to the questions raised by the MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyail said that under the Prime Ministers Development Package for J&K, government has approved an outlay of 354.74 Crore Rupees under which 2 nos of 220/33 KV Grid Sub Stations at Disket Nubra (50MVa) and Padum Zanskar 50 MVa, 220 KV S/C 307 Km transmission lines on D/c Tower including, Kargil Padum 207 km and Phyang Disket 100Km will be constructed. “One 220 Kv line bay each at 220/66 KV Phyang Substation and 220/66 KV Kargil Substation and 1X25 MVAR; 220/33KV bus Reactor at Padum along with 220 KV Bay has been sanctioned”, Power Minister added.
Power Minister further said that the process of awarding the contract is under process and will be soon awarded as per norms and on the request of the JKPDD, the route of Zanskar Transmission Line was changed from Kargil-Padum to Drass-Padum due to the right of way issues resulting in change in route alignment.
Making his supplementary point, MP Ladakh demanded for early completion of the Transmission projects of Zanskar and Nubra and further demanded to include Durbuk Sub Division in the transmission projects.
