Jammu: As novel Coronavirus (COVID-2019) scare grips the region, SKUAST-Jammu scientists held a hygiene and sanitation camp for the benefit of Gujjar and Bakarwal women in Panjgrain, Nagrota area of Jammu on Tuesday.
The camp was organized by Dr. Jafrin Ara Ahmed, Principal Investigator of a DBT project along with Dr. Nawab Nashiruddullah, Dr. Sharad Kumar, Dr. Ankur Sharma, Dr. Kawardeep Kour and Dr. Nazam Khan, all scientists of SKUAST-Jammu in sensitizing women particularly associated with animal husbandry in aspects of personal hygiene, sanitation and zoonotic diseases.
Free disinfectants and veterinary medicines were also distributed to more than 100 beneficiaries. Special assistance and collaboration was extended by Dr. Pritam Manhas (APO), Dr. Khalid Hussain (VAS) and supporting staff of Sheep Husbandry mobile unit in disbursing veterinary aid to the animal rearers.
