Srinagar, Feb 7:

A Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) module on Friday was busted and three of its associates involved in grenade throwing incident at Lal Chowk here were arrested, police said.

The JeM associates were identified as Naveed Ul Lateef, Shakeel Ahmad Band and Shamshad Manzoor, all residents of south Kashmir, a police spokesman said.

“As per police records, they were linked to proscribed terror outfit JeM and were involved in recent grenade lobbing at Pratap Park (Lal Chowk),” he said.

The spokesman said the trio was involved in establishing terror networks and facilitating the execution of terror activities across the Valley.

He said further investigation in the case was on and more recoveries and arrests were expected.

A grenade was hurled on CRPF personnel posted on duty near Pratap Park in busy Lal Chowk area of the city on Sunday, injuring two jawans and seven civilians.
