Jammu, Jan 10, TEN Network | We have received clear instructions from Lt Governor GC Murmu to bring complete end to encroachments within the Jammu city a massive drive is expected in next few days and we don’t really want any shopkeeper and vendor to show us after all the illegally erected stock at congested spot is bundled by the team from spot since they have been told repeatedly to follow the norms issued by authorities, city Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta, in an exclusive interview told The Earth News.
Despite repeated attempts to aware shopkeepers, vendors and unorganized vehicles to not indulge into the affairs that creates heavy mess across the Jammu city, we have planned to come up with a massive drive against all such self styled people to bring a complete end to mess within city to bring ease to daily commuters, free flow of visitors and commoner who are affected due to their negligence, Mohan Gupta told our correspondent.
Have communicated with Senior Superintendent of police, Municipality chairman, Traffic Department and all other concerned agencies to gear up for a massive anti encroachment drive in next few days, with some harsh steps so that people won’t repeat their mistakes again, so far it has been examined that despite repeated warnings and drives all that said has felt to deaf ears since violators hardly care, even we don’t expect them to show up before us (Department) to lend them all the material back bundled from the spot by the anti encroachment team, Mohan told The Earth News.
Moreover he said that, there are some habitual shopkeepers who deliberately encroach the foot paths, roads and congested spots where huge rush remains most of the times, regarding the same in past we have met market Presidents and different Associations of Jammu which has shown greater impact but still there are some vendors who still show up at different spots despite when we have already moved out scores of vendors from the city in past.
He further said that, Jammu bus stand parking slot is expected to be inaugurated in prevailing month over 1200 vehicles can been accommodated within a time, a plan to construct a parking slot at Panj Tirthi, Old mini Bus stand is on cards and tender notice will be issued in next few days, which will accommodate over 300 vehicles a time, SMGS Hospital will get a full fledged parking soon at its nearby area, JMC parking slots are being reviewed, a slot behind Dak Bunglow is also expected to come up soon after proper procedure.
He further told our correspondent that, almost 20 new parking slots at different spots are expected to come up very soon, Shopkeepers, commuters, and visitors will have ease to greater extend, we are here to severe general public and we are into that with more seriousness since government is committed to facilitate public in every possible manners, even if people have some suggestion for us they can visit me and share their suggestions regarding the betterment of Jammu city which will be looked into with utmost priority at the earliest. We expect full co-operation from general public in all manners.
