New Delhi, Dec 07, TEN Network | Chief Justice of India Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde on Saturday said that justice should not be revenge.
“Justice should not be revenge. I believe Justice loses its character as Justice if it becomes revenge,” he said.
His statement came a day after all four accused in the rape and murder of a young Hyderabad veterinarian were shot dead in a pre-dawn encounter.
The Telangana Police said its personnel resorted to “retaliatory” firing after two of the accused opened fire at police after snatching weapons from them on Friday morning.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner CV Sajjanar said one of the accused, Mohammed Arif, was the first to open fire, even as the police team that took them to the crime scene were attacked with stones and sticks. The snatched weapons were in “unlocked” position, he added. (NIE)
