KATHUA, Nov 21, TEN Network |(Press Release) Today the work remain suspended for the 15 th
consecutive working day from 1 st November 2019 in the District & Session
Court Kathua including all other subordinate courts of the entire District
Kathua and complete shutdown observed by District Bar Association Kathua
in support of J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu on the main issue of
withdrawing of Registration powers from Judicial Officers and given to
already overburdened revenue authorities in addition to their already
assigned duties. The other sister Bar Associations in the District Kathua like
Bar Association Hiranagar, Billawar, Basohli, Mahanpur & Bani are also
observing the complete work suspend & shutdown. The members of the
District Bar Association Kathua also sitting continuously on a massive
Dharna in the premises of District & Sessions Court Kathua from the last 20
days led by President of District Bar Association Kathua Advocate Ajat
Shatru Sharma. The members also agitated against the decision of J&K UT
Govt. to transfer of registration powers to already over-burdened revenue
officers.
While addressing the gathering Advocate Ajat Shatru Sharma said that the
J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu with the support of other sister Bar
Associations is fighting for the cause of innocent general public of J&K UT as
the above decision of the Govt. will not only affect the advocates fraternity
but general public of J&K UT is next target in coming days. Lt. Governor of
J&K UT and Union Home Ministry seems to be working in reshaping J&K UT
with the anti-Judiciary approach. After reducing to the status of UT J&K
needed a healing touch for nationalist people of J&K but the above decision
of Govt. will not only demoralize them, as they fully supported the decision
of revocation of article 370 but also indirectly supporting the anti-nationals
elements in the J&K who are spreading lies and making false propaganda of
demographic shift. The adamant attitude of the Govt. that too with the
supporters of the Center Govt. is not good for the health of BJP led Govt. as
they may have to pay the heavy penalty instead of appreciation. The
experts from other states like Punjab, Haryana etc. has already appreciated
the system of internal governance of delegation of registration powers to
judicial officers instead of revenue authorities. Revenue officials could not
effectively deliver justice better than judicial officers. It is the wake up call
for the Govt. especially the Hon’ble Lt. Governor G.C. Murmu, who should
put step forward for resolving the matter amicably immediately by inviting
the representatives of J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu and other
sisters Bars.
Meanwhile in the pre-scheduled general body meeting of the District
Bar Association Kathua held on today afternoon has also decided to
the extend the work suspend & complete shutdown for three working
days more on 22 nd (Friday), 23 rd (Saturday) and 25 th (Monday)
November 2019 in District & Sessions Court including all other
subordinate courts of the entire District Kathua, including Revenue
Courts, Labour Court etc. in support of call of Indefinite work suspend
J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu to protest against the decision
of transferring of Registration powers to Revenue officers from judicial
officers. The further review meeting will be held on 25 th November
2019(Monday), at 12:30 PM to decide the further course of action.
