Sopore, Nov 16, TEN Network | Sopore Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested five active over ground workers (OGW’s) of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit at Byepass Sopore_Kupwara crossing.
Police sources told Kashmir Despatch that a joint naka was laid by Police party,22RR Sopore,CRPF Sopore near Bypass crossing Sopore_Kupwara Road Sopore and arrested 5 OGWs among three are those who were threatening people by pasting posters.
After detained them preliminary questioning, they revealed their identity as Hilal Ahmad Mir son of Mohammed Hamza Mir Residents of Brath Kalan Sopore, Sahil Nazir Mir Son of Nazir Ahmad Mir Residents of Brath Kalan Sopore, Peerzada Mohd Zahif Son of Bashir Ahmad Shah Presidents of Brath Kalan Sopore. Two OGWs name Ulfat Bashir Mir son of Bashir ahmad mir Nowpora Sopore and Mohammed Shaban Bhat Darpora Sopore
SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal confirmed this development to Kashmir Despatch and said that the three among those are involved by threatening public by pasting posters. Officer said that all are affiliated with Lashker e Toiba militant outfit. SSP said that two hand grenades were recovered from them.
Pertinently police in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said that a case FIR number 280/2019 was registered in Police Station Sopore and further investigations were taken up,” in this regard. (KD)
