EARTH NEWS SERVICE|268402_6 Srinagar, Dec 10 |15: As a sequel to Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s meeting with Anil Ambani, owner of ADAG (Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group) in Mumbai last month, Reliance Communications will make its 500-seater Call Centre functional here from April next year. This was revealed in a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister with a highlevel team from ADA Group, here this morning. The team is in the summer capital to work out modalities for setting up call centres in the two capital cities of the state. Advisor to the Chief Minister, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, B. B. Vyas, Commissioner / Secretary IT, Hirdesh Kumar, besides Parikshit Kaul, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, ADA Group, Vivek Gangwar, Head, Customer Service RCom and Sanjoy Lodha, CFP, Vertex Communications, were present on the occasion. Reflecting upon the available pool of Information Technology (IT) and ITES-trained human resource, the Chief Minister reiterated his focus on creating enabling environment in the state for top IT firms. “To maximise opportunities of employment in the IT sector, we are committed to continuance of incentives under the State’s Industrial Policy,” he stated. Mufti Sayeed was informed that all manpower to be employed at the Call Centres will be made through government agencies like State Employment Exchanges and Skill Development Schemes like Udaan. The Chief Minister offered full support of the government in operationalising the Call Centres. The proposed Call Centre at Srinagar is expected to provide employment to 1500 youth. Mufti Sayeed also passed instructions for identifying a centrally-located place with scope for future expansion in the summer capital to make the Call Centres functional. During the meeting, a presentation was also made by the visiting team on key enablers like infrastructure facilities, manpower and technology to be adopted to make the call centres functional. During his visit to Mumbai last month, Anil Ambani had assured the Chief Minister on setting up of call centres in two phases in the capital cities of Srinagar and Jammu, which will provide job opportunities to around 3000 youth.
