JAMMU OCTOBER 06: Wildlife Protection Department Kathua today organised Wildlife Week Celebration at Basantpur (Thein Conservation Reserve).
A number of students, teachers and senior citizens from adjoining area participated in the programme. The students from Govt. High School Basantpur participated in symposium, painting competition, skits and cultural programme on Wildlife Conservation. The School children spoke on Conservation and Protection of local Flora and Fauna of the area.
The programme was organised by the Wildlife Warden Kathua, Sunil Singh, Range Officer kathua Dewan Chand and Bishamber Singh Range Officer Jasrota and staff.
The Wildlife Warden Kathua, while addressing the gathering, informed about the importance of Protection and Conservation of Wildlife. He also stressed upon the public for imparting the important role in protecting the flora and fauna of the area. The Head Master of Government High School Basantpur Hem Raj also addressed the gathering.
In symposium the first prize was bagged by Nazia, while second and third prizes were clinched by Maveena& Love Kumar respectively.
In Painting Competition, the first prize went to Lovely Singh, while second and third prizes were bagged by Monika Rajput & Maveenaand Dolly respectively.
