Jammu, October 4: Anguished over illegal demolition of residential houses by Jammu Development Authority (JDA), residents of area near Jammu Railway station today appealed Governor SP Malik to ensure the restoration of the houses as they were before to ensure justice to all law abiding citizens of State.
While addressing in Media, representative of the victims alleged that this misconduct by Jammu Development Authority (JDA) has resulted in sheer suffering for law abiding citizens. He termed this action of JDA as unauthorized use of power.
“We have all legal and original documents pertaining to their ownership rights. We have also obtained permission from Jammu Municipal Corporation for construction of our houses, we were astonished on action on constructions which were built three decades ago”, he said.
“We are law abiding citizens of the State and are not against the anti-encroachment drive. We are against this misconduct where legally authorised houses were demolished making us homeless”, he added.
While addressing media, Hardev Singh, Satpal Sharma and Ishan Sharma demanded independent enquiry in this misconduct by Nodal Officers to ensure justice.
They also demanded issuance of order copy authorising them to demolish legal houses in the area.
Alleging that Encroachment drive as motivated and a plot to harass the law abiding citizens, he urged the Governor SP Malik and his advisors to direct the concerned authorities to take action erring JDA officials for misconduct of duty.
He also demanded Administration to ensure restoration of their premises in the same situation as they were before allegedly motivated encroachment drive leaving many homeless.
