Srinagar, September 8: A Hurriyat activist was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Bomai area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.

Reports said that the gunmen fired upon the hurriyat activist namely Hakeem ur Rehman Sultani in Bomai area of Sopore outskirts.

In the incident Sultani suffered serious head injuries and was taken to nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, they said.

A senior police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the police has reached the spot and launched searches to nab the attackers.
