KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 01: – District Development Commissioner Dr Shamim Ahmad Wani today convened a meeting of District and sectoral officers of the district to review developmental scenario in the district under various schemes here at mini secretariat Kulgam.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Khawaja Nazir Ahmad, CPO Mohd Ashraf, EXENS of PDD, PHE, PMGSY, R&B and other district and sectoral officers of the district.

During the meeting, heads of the departments briefed the DDC about the status of developmental work projects in their respective departments. It was given out in the meeting that Rs 17.35 Cr has been expended on different developmental work projects.

While giving details EXEN R&B briefed the DDC that out of 25 works under district sector, 10 works have been completed while 15 ongoing work projects are at different stages of development. He also added that 26-kilometre road length has been macadamised in this fiscal and 5 major bridges have been completed, 3 bridges are under developmental process at different stages.

Under PMGSY it was given that out of 27 works, 9 have been completed and work on rest of the projects are in process. It was also giving out that 39 more schemes costing Rs 150 crore have been sanctioned and they are currently under the tendering process.

During the meeting, District youth services and sports officer informed the DDC that work on Ashmuji and Wanpora playfields are at apace and work on other three playfields have not been initiated yet. DDC directed the concerned to start work on the identified playfields without any delay.

DDC stressed upon the officers to speed up the pace of ongoing work projects and directed the concerned officers to personally monitor the work projects and report the progress to him regularly. He also urged all the concerned departments to work in close coordination and synergy for better results.
