Arrangements for 3-Day Sankri Devta Mela discussed

UDHAMPUR, August 29: – Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krishan Lal today convened a meeting to discuss arrangements being put in place for ensuing 3-day Annual Sankri Deva Mela commencing from September 7, 2018 in Tehsil Panchari of district Udhampur.

Detailed discussions were held on various arrangements including security, sanitation, healthcare, transport, traffic management, drinking water and power supply, checking of rates of essential commodities etc.

While addressing the meeting, the ADC directed all the district officers to work in coordination for putting in place all the necessary arrangements well before the commencement of the Mela. Besides this, he asked the officers to setup stalls of their respective departments for generating awareness among the people regarding various government sponsored schemes.

 The ADC directed ARTO Udhampur to deploy adequate number of buses so that the devotees do not face inconvenience during mela.

PHE was asked to ensure adequate arrangements of drinking water supply while PDD was directed to provide uninterrupted power supply during the mela days. The ADC directed the PWD to ensure filling up of all the potholes and repair depilated road if any at the earliest.

Health Department was asked to deploy a team of doctors and keep the ambulance and medicines during the mela days .

Tehsildar Panchari has been appointed as the Mela officer.

The District Youth Services and Sports Officer was asked to organize sports events during the Mela.

Among others, Chief medical Officer, Dr. K.C Dogra besides district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
