GANDERBAL, AUGUST 18: Commissioner Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Dr Abdul Rashid today visited Ganderbal wherein he reviewed the working of the department.
He inspected various Godowns and sale centres to see the implementation of e-pds project of the department in the district. He also took stock of arrangements for Eid–ul-Azha and ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra. The Commissioner Secretary enjoined upon all the officers/officials of the department to ensure 100 per cent distribution of foodgrains and Sugar before Eid so that public does not face any difficulty.
The Commissioner Secretary emphasized in bringing total transparency in the system and instructed the field functionaries to make 100 per cent transactions of distribution of food grains through POS Machines. Directions were also issued to the field functionaries to utilise only Digital Weighing scales to bring 100% accuracy in the weighing system and display rates and entitlement of various categories of consumers of all essential commodities at the sale centres.
He further directed that a comprehensive mechanism be put in place and Joint squads activated to ensure that no black marketing or violation of fixed rates for essential commodities takes place.
Dr Rashid appreciated the efforts made by the concerned officers/officials of the department in the district and asked them to work with zeal and honesty to ensure timely distribution of ration. Director FCS&CA Department Kashmir Nisar Ahmad Wani and Deputy Director Supplies Mohammad Aslam also accompanied the Commissioner Secretary.
