EARTH NEWS SERVICE| Srinagar, Jan 14 |16: Peoples Democratic Party Youth wing Pulwama on Thursday paid rich tributes to the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and People’s Democratic Party Patron, late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at a condolence meeting held in Pulwama. Hundreds of youth from Pulwama town and its adjoining areas participated in the meeting and prayed for the departed soul. The meeting expressed heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. The speakers prayed to the Almighty for everlasting peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss, a statement issued by the party said. They said the veteran politician had played a significant role in bringing peace, not only in the state but in the entire South Asian region. Youth Wing President Waheed Ur Rehman while paying rich tributes to the former Chief Minister said, “Mufti Sahab was an institution in himself, whose ideas and vision for peaceful and developed Jammu and Kashmir needs to be carried forward by everyone.” “It is the responsibility of our generation to carry forward his message of peace and prosperity.” The gathering at Pulwama hailed “Mufti Sahab’s stand” on Ind-Pak relations. “Muzaffarabad bus service that got two nations closer to each other was possible only because of Mufti Sahab’s vision and political sagacity.” “Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was the man of principles, character who never compromised on the self-respect of Kashmiri’s, development and peace of the state,” the meeting observed. Meanwhile, a congregational prayer (Fatah khwani) was also offered at the last rest place of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at Bijbehara town of Islamabad.
