Jammu, Dec 2|15: Established on 1st Dec.1947, Radio Kashmir Jammu came into force to crush the strong and false propaganda made by Pakistan Radio. Right from its beginning the station became a force to reckon with and strongly embedded itself in the heart of every single individual in the region, be it here or across the border. Such sentiments were echoed in no minced words by one and all who gathered in large numbers in the premises of Radio Kashmir Jammu for a Dogri Folk Songs concert. The event started with lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, MLA East Rajesh Gupta joined in by station Head DDG (E) K. K. Singh, Station Director V.K. Sambyal. Rajesh Gupta while elaborating upon the role of Radio Kashmir Jammu in disseminating information, education and entertainment recollected the fond memories of his childhood and his love for radio. He further said that he still looks at this station as the most authentic source of information. Station Director V. K. Sambyal welcomed all the participants and thanked all the listeners spread all across for their immense love and support to the efforts of radio Kashmir jammu and making it Number One radio Channel of the state. He mentioned about the series of awards that have been given to this station and applauded every single staff member. This was followed by paper reading by a research scholar Neeraj Jandiyal on the history of Radio Kashmir Jammu.
