Leh, Sept 20: In a significant push for local entrepreneurship and innovation, the Mahindra Thar ROXX MX5 was officially launched in Ladakh on September 17. The launch event was attended by the Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Adv. Tashi Gyalson, along with Thiksay Councillor Stanzin Chosfail.

The launch took place at Mentokling Mahindra, the local dealership responsible for bringing the Mahindra Thar ROXX MX5 to the region. CEC Gyalson congratulated the dealership for introducing the vehicle, which he described as a showcase of engineering excellence and a key step toward fostering local entrepreneurship.

In his address, CEC Gyalson emphasized the importance of supporting local products and indigenous initiatives. He connected the launch to the broader “Vocal for Local” campaign, underlining the critical need to prioritize local industries. He commended Mentokling Mahindra for its role in generating employment opportunities for the people of Ladakh, noting that leveraging local resources and talent is essential for strengthening the region’s economy.

“The introduction of the Mahindra Thar ROXX MX5 exemplifies how local industries can combine innovation and sustainability to create products of the highest quality,” said CEC Gyalson. He urged the community to support local craftsmanship and innovations, fostering a culture of self-reliance and sustainability in Leh.

The event provided a platform for discussing the role of local businesses in boosting Ladakh’s economy. CEC Gyalson encouraged greater collaboration between the business community and the local population, reinforcing the importance of such partnerships in promoting economic growth and environmental stewardship.
