Leh, Sept 20: In a significant step toward enhancing legal awareness and promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in Ladakh, the Hon’ble Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, held a meeting with a delegation led by Principal District and Sessions Judge, Mr. Manoj Parihar. The delegation included key legal figures from the Ladakh Legal Services Authority (LLSA), such as Member Secretary Spalzes Angmo, Under Secretary Stanzin Dachom, and Mobile Magistrate Chemit Yurgyal.

The meeting focused on an upcoming mediation conference, which aims to raise awareness among various community leaders and elected representatives in Leh. Judge Manoj Parihar emphasized the significance of the event, particularly for councillors, Sarpanches, and Block Development Council (BDC) members. He underscored the role of mediation as an effective, amicable, and faster alternative to lengthy legal battles, which often strain both the judicial system and the parties involved. The conference aims to showcase the benefits of mediation in resolving conflicts and fostering harmonious relationships within the community.

Chairman Tashi Gyalson extended his congratulations to the newly appointed District and Sessions Judge, welcoming his efforts to strengthen legal education in the region. He commended the collaboration between LAHDC Leh and the legal authorities in advancing public knowledge about mediation as a crucial tool for conflict resolution.

LAHDC Leh has called upon all stakeholders, including elected officials and community leaders, to actively participate in the upcoming conference. The council emphasized the need to cultivate a culture of dialogue and mediation, which can play a pivotal role in resolving disputes peacefully and efficiently in the region.
