Leh, Sept 19: In a bid to enhance the benefits of Aadhaar-linked schemes across Ladakh, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Regional Office, Chandigarh, organized a workshop in Leh today. The event, held at the UT Secretariat, was inaugurated by Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, in the presence of Ms. Bhawna Garg, Deputy Director General (DDG) of UIDAI, Chandigarh.
The workshop focused on educating government officials on the Aadhaar ecosystem, the authentication processes, and various use cases for maximizing the impact of Aadhaar in governance and social welfare schemes. Representatives from various government departments, including Sanjeev Khirwar, Principal Secretary, Department of School Education, and Padma Angmo, Commissioner Secretary of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, actively participated in the discussions.
During the event, examples of successful Aadhaar-based governance from other states were showcased, encouraging departments to adopt face authentication for improved security and efficiency. The workshop also explored potential areas where Aadhaar can play a significant role in streamlining social welfare initiatives.
Over 30 government officials attended the workshop, which included presentations by experts who shed light on the benefits of Aadhaar in driving good governance and optimizing public service delivery. The event highlighted the importance of Aadhaar in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and improved access to government services for the people of Ladakh.
