Leh, Sept 19: In a significant move to bolster agricultural development in the region, Hon’ble Chairman/CEC Tashi Gyalson of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, along with Executive Councillor for Agriculture Stanzin Chosphel, District Commissioner/CEO Santosh Sukhadeve, and Naib Tehsildar Attaullah Khan, conducted a comprehensive visit to the LAHDC Agriculture Excellency Center and the Farmer Training Institute.
The primary objective of their visit was to monitor the ongoing construction of a new hostel at the Agriculture Excellency Center and to evaluate the overall progress of the institute’s operations. During the visit, CEC Gyalson meticulously reviewed the status of land allotment and emphasized the critical need for effective resource utilization to promote sustainable agricultural practices in the region. He stressed the importance of optimizing land use for innovative agricultural research to enhance productivity and sustainability.
In addition to inspecting the Agriculture Excellency Center, the delegation also visited the CSIR Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine’s experimental research farm located in Palam Chuchot. This site is pivotal for advancing agricultural research and practices, playing a key role in the development and support of the local farming community.
