Kargil, Sept 19: Er. Punchok Tashi, Executive Councillor for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department (RD&PRD), Forest/Wildlife, Cooperative, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CAPD), and Zanskar Development Authority (ZDA) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, conducted an inspection of various developmental projects in Padum, Zanskar today.
During the visit, Tashi reviewed the progress of the Eco Park Padum, which is being constructed by the ZDA. The inspection highlighted an issue concerning the approach road, which has been a point of contention. The Executing Agency raised concerns that prompted Tashi to direct the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ZDA, along with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Tehsildar of Zanskar, to work towards an amicable resolution with the landowner to ensure the project’s progress.
Additionally, Tashi evaluated the ongoing construction of the Revenue Complex in Padum. He noted that half of the complex should be completed within the next 15 days to accommodate both the Tehsil and SDM Offices, as committed by the Executive Engineer of Roads & Buildings (R&B) Zanskar.
The inspection also included a review of the Culture Complex at Zanskar Gonpa in Maniringmo and the Buddha Park. Tashi emphasized the need to expedite these projects to ensure their completion within the current financial year.
Accompanying Tashi during the tour were SDM Zanskar and CEO ZDA Romil Singh, Tehsildar Zanskar Mohd Hassan, and Executive Engineer R&B Zanskar Vilayat Ali. Their collaborative efforts are expected to drive forward the completion of these significant development initiatives in the Zanskar region.
