Leh, Sept 19: Noting Ladakh’s significant potential for development in entrepreneurship, Chief Executive Councillor and Chairman of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh, Tashi Gyalson called on keeping sustainability at the heart of development of the Changthang region as it gears up for a significant change as a new district.
Focus must be laid on eco-friendly practices and equitable growth across multiple sectors, Gyalson said at the Changthang Youth Conference 2024 on Wednesday.
The inaugural two-day Conference– coordinated by Sheep Husbandry Department, LAHDC, Leh and organised by SAVE and DAYANGS– aimed to provide in depth deliberations on strengthening and development of Changthang region and to create awareness among the youth and concluded on Wednesday.
In his address at the closing ceremony, the chief guest Gyalson commended the youth of Changthang for organizing this valuable conference, which aimed to raise awareness and build confidence among them while facilitating interactions with experts from various fields.
He emphasized the importance of developing the Changthang region sustainably, with a focus on eco-friendly practices and equitable growth across multiple sectors.
Gyalson highlighted that such initiatives would encourage local entrepreneurs, noting Ladakh’s significant potential for development in this area.
He also praised the UT Administration of Ladakh for creating robust platforms to support Ladakhi entrepreneurs at different levels.
Among the enriching sessions that happened during the day, a number of Councillors of LAHDC, Leh were also a part of the panelists.
These included Councilor, Korzok, Skarma Namdak and Councilor, Rong, Thinles Nurboo in the first session and Councilor, Nyoma, Ishey Spalzang in the second panel discussion.
Highlighting the importance of this seminar, Executive Councillor for RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee said that organising this seminar is a celebratory occasion for all of us and this seminar should be organised every year.
