Jammu, Sept 11: Senior Vice President and Chief Spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JkPCC), Ravinder Sharma, met with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Srinagar today to discuss the current political climate and organizational matters.

Sharma informed Kharge about widespread dissatisfaction among the populace with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and emphasized that the Congress-National Conference (NC) coalition is seen as the most viable option to restore peace and address numerous grievances. He highlighted the dire need for a responsive and accountable government in light of soaring unemployment and the heavy tax burden exacerbated by unprecedented price rises.

The JkPCC leader also detailed the struggles of various groups, including daily wagers, contractual, ad-hoc, and temporary employees, who have been seeking regularization and fair treatment for years. Sharma brought attention to the plight of refugees from 1947, 1965, and 1971, who are still fighting for a comprehensive compensation package and political representation. Furthermore, he raised concerns about issues affecting Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and other segments of society.

In addition, Sharma discussed the developmental and political challenges facing the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, particularly regarding railway connectivity.

Congress President Kharge listened attentively to Sharma’s presentation and assured him that the concerns and suggestions would be addressed.
