  • Files nomination for RS Pura-Jammu South Assembly segment

Jammu, Sept 11: Former Minister and Congress candidate for the RS Pura-Jammu South Assembly segment, Raman Bhalla, addressed a massive rally today in RS Pura, expressing his deep gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received in his ongoing campaign. Bhalla, who is running on a platform to restore the dignity and honor of the common masses, criticized the BJP’s decade-long rule in Jammu and Kashmir, calling it the “darkest period” in the region’s political history.

Speaking to a crowd of thousands, Bhalla accused the BJP of implementing anti-poor policies during its ten-year tenure from 2014 to 2024, which he claimed significantly impacted the common people. He asserted that the current administration’s failure to address basic issues has led to widespread suffering among Jammu and Kashmir’s residents.

“The BJP’s promises have not translated into action,” Bhalla declared, pointing to ongoing issues such as power outages, water scarcity, unemployment, and inadequate healthcare services. He condemned the BJP for focusing on divisive politics rather than addressing these critical concerns.

Bhalla assured that, if elected, he would prioritize resolving these issues and promised that the Congress-NC coalition government would act swiftly to alleviate the problems faced by the people. “After the formation of our government, we will ensure that all these problems are addressed promptly,” he stated, pledging to tackle the pressing concerns of the community from October 8.

The rally, organized in support of Bhalla, saw participation from various political figures, including Tarlok Singh Bajwa, Ex-MP and PCC General Secretary Amrit Bali, Satish Sharma, Bhushan Dogra Ex-MLA, Dalip Kumar BDC RS Pura, and several former Sarpanches and Panches.

The large turnout at today’s rally underscores the public’s dissatisfaction with the current administration and their support for Bhalla’s campaign. As the election approaches, Bhalla’s rhetoric and promises suggest a strong challenge to the incumbent BJP, as he seeks to capitalize on growing discontent and rally voters around the Congress party’s vision for Jammu and Kashmir.
