Leh, Sept 11: A delegation from Shakar Chiktan, led by Nominated Councillor Hakima Khatoon, met with the Hon’ble Chairman of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh, Tashi Gyalson, on September 10. The delegation included key figures such as President Kacho Shameem Mandal, General Secretary Haji Hussain, Senior Leaders Own Ali, Sajjad Hussain, Ghulam Qadri, and Younus Ali, as well as Senior Workers Khalil Khan and Mohd Ismail Khan.

During the meeting, Chairman Gyalson extended his heartfelt congratulations to Hakima Khatoon on her recent nomination. He expressed his support for her forthcoming endeavors and assured her of the council’s assistance in her efforts. Khatoon, in turn, expressed her profound gratitude for Gyalson’s support and reaffirmed her commitment to working with dedication and diligence.

A significant portion of the discussion focused on issues related to women’s rights. Khatoon emphasized the urgent need for women’s reservation within the Kargil council, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by women in the region.
