Kargil, Sept 08: Er. Punchok Tashi, Executive Councilor for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperative, FCS&CA, Forest & Wildlife, and Information at LAHDC, Kargil, presided over a crucial meeting today to finalize arrangements for the upcoming 9th Edition of the Ladakh Zanskar Festival-2024. The festival is set to take place on September 13th and 14th in Zanskar.

The venue for the festival has been confirmed to be Sani, Zanskar, following extensive discussions among the participants. During the meeting, Tashi emphasized the importance of local participation in the festival’s success. All Lambardars of Zanskar have been invited to contribute by providing folk singers, dancers, and other cultural performers, while also collaborating with the administration to ensure smooth operations.

The meeting saw the attendance of several key officials, including Nazir Hussain, Deputy Secretary Culture Academic Kargil; Tsewang Paljor, Deputy Secretary Culture Academic Leh; and Mohd Hassan, Incharge Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, along with other Sub Divisional level officers.

Nazir Hussain also revealed that a variety of stalls will be set up at the festival venue, adding to the event’s vibrant atmosphere and offering a platform for local artisans and vendors.

The Ladakh Zanskar Festival promises to be a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the region, with diverse performances and exhibitions showcasing the unique traditions of Zanskar.
