Leh, Sept 04: Renowned athlete and Arjuna Awardee, Vijay Singh Chauhan, visited the University of Ladakh’s Leh Campus today, where he interacted with students participating in the ongoing Inter-Department Volleyball Tournament.
Chauhan, a celebrated Olympian and Asian Games Gold Medalist, is also a retired Director of Sports for the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
During his visit, Chauhan commended the university for its initiative in organizing the tournament, highlighting the importance of sports in student life. He extended his best wishes to the participants, encouraging them to excel both on and off the court.
“The spirit of sportsmanship and competition you display here today will serve you well in all aspects of life,” Chauhan remarked, addressing the gathered students. “I am truly impressed by the enthusiasm and talent I see here, and I believe that events like these are crucial in nurturing future sports stars.”
The University of Ladakh expressed its gratitude for Chauhan’s visit, noting that his presence and words of encouragement had a profound impact on the students.
