Kargil, Sept 01: Dr. Laltinkhuma Franklin, (IAS) Secretary of Animal, Sheep, and Fisheries for the Union Territory of Ladakh conducted a comprehensive review of the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) data uploading process. The review focused on the procedures used for entering FMD data into the Pashudhan app, an essential tool for monitoring and managing livestock health in the region.
Dr. Gulzar Hussain, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) of Kargil, along with his team, provided a thorough demonstration of their data management process. The presentation highlighted the systematic approach employed by the team to ensure both accuracy and timeliness in data entry. Dr. Hussain emphasized the critical role of meticulous record-keeping and technological tools in tracking the health status of livestock across the district.
Secretary Dr. Franklin expressed satisfaction with the current methods and commended the Kargil Animal Husbandry team for their diligent efforts. He praised the significant progress made in digitalizing livestock health records and acknowledged the department’s commitment to maintaining high standards in animal health management.
The Secretary’s visit underscored the continued importance of vigilance and modern tools, such as the Pashudhan App, in managing livestock diseases effectively. The positive feedback received has further inspired the department to enhance their efforts in protecting the health of the region’s livestock, ensuring a robust and responsive system for disease management.
