Kargil Aug 30 :- Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today inaugurated a Multi-Speciality Free Medical Camp at District Hospital Kargil.
The camp was organized by Dream 4 a Change and Noora Hospital Srinagar in collaboration with LAHDC, Kargil and Health Department Kargil.
The inauguration was attended by Incharge Medical Superintendent, Dr Haji Ali; RMO, Dr Sajjad Hussain; Liaison Officer of the medical camp Dr Shabir Hussain, alongside doctors from Noora Hospital, volunteers and others.
In his address, the CEC commended the organizers for holding the camp, highlighting its benefits for the local population of Kargil. He noted that such initiatives not only provide essential healthcare services but also strengthen the relationship between doctors and the local community.
The CEC assured that LAHDC Kargil remains committed to provide the best healthcare services in the area. He also stated that several issues concerning District Hospital Kargil have been raised with the Hon’ble LG of Ladakh and he anticipates their early resolution.
Additionally, Dr Jaffer Akhoon said that due to his concerted efforts, the DNB (Diplomate of National Board) program has been granted to the district calling it an achievement for the region’s healthcare.
The CEC emphasized the importance of a compassionate approach by doctors towards their patients and urged them to maintain a gentle and supportive demeanour.
He was informed that Noora Hospital Srinagar is an empanelled hospital with the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and it has been providing various treatments under the scheme to the patients. Furthermore, the hospital has committed to offer free consultations for the people of Kargil for the next two months, a step much appreciated by the CEC.
He encouraged the continuation of such medical camps in future. Dr Jaffer Akhoon also praised the efforts of Health Department Kargil, Dream 4 a Change, Noora Hospital Srinagar and all volunteers involved in organizing the camp and assured all possible support from the Hill Council Kargil.
Later, Shahnawaz Var, Founder of Dream 4 a Change, spoke about the NGO’s achievements and plans. He expressed gratitude to the CEC recalling his support since 2013 when the NGO conducted its first camp in Kargil, during which Dr Jaffer Akhoon was Chief Medical Officer of the district.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Shahnawaz Var, who acknowledged the contributions of all doctors, RMO, volunteers, and media personnel for their continued support.
