Leh, Aug 26: In a remarkable and spiritually uplifting event, His Holiness the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa Rinpoche graced the University of Ladakh’s Leh Campus, Taru with his esteemed presence yesterday at 3:00 PM. His visit was met with an outpouring of enthusiasm from students, faculty, local villagers, and children from the Government Middle School Taru, who gathered in large numbers to honor the revered guest.

The atmosphere was electric as His Holiness arrived and was warmly received by Prof. S.K. Mehta, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh. The traditional Ladakhi welcome included the presentation of khadags—silken scarves symbolizing deep respect and reverence. This gesture was a mark of the profound respect held for His Holiness in the local culture.

In a highlight of the visit, His Holiness Tai Situpa Rinpoche delivered a thought-provoking lecture on “Transformation from Knowledge to Wisdom.” His discourse delved into the various developmental stages of human life, from infancy through childhood, underscoring the essential role of moral education in this transformative journey. The insights provided were deeply impactful, emphasizing the integration of wisdom and knowledge as fundamental to human development.

In a gesture of gratitude, Prof. S.K. Mehta presented His Holiness with a commemorative memento. In return, His Holiness gifted a statue of Lord Buddha to the Vice Chancellor, symbolizing his heartfelt prayers for the University of Ladakh’s continued progress and prosperity.

The visit of His Holiness Tai Situpa Rinpoche was not just a momentous spiritual occasion but also an enriching experience that left a lasting impression on the university community. The event underscored the enduring value of wisdom and education, further strengthening the bond between the spiritual and academic realms.
