Samba 25 :- Acting firmly against the drug menace and its propagators, Police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur, district Samba and recovered 468 Nos. of Intoxicant Capsules (Tramadol).
A Police Party of PS Vijaypur headed by SHO PS Vijaypur Insp Zaheer Mushtaq during vehicle checking naka at NHW AIIMS Vijaypur, intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious ground who was coming from Rakh Barotian side and moving toward Vijaypur.
During the frisking of said person, 468 Nos. of Intoxicant Capsules (Tramadol) were recovered from his possession. The accused person identified as Varun Pawar S/o Bhagwan Singh R/o Lehar, tehsil Akhnoor, district Jammu was arrested and contraband item was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 117/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and further investigation is going on.
